Celebrating Milestones And Making a Difference

October was a month of significant milestones and heartfelt contributions at CRS Custom. We’re proud to share some of the highlights from this month, including our Community Choice Award win, the retirement of a valued team member, our final Carguys and Coffee event of the year, and our efforts to support those affected by Hurricane Helene.

Voted The South Bend Area's Best Auto Body Collision Center!

On October 1st, Collision Repair Systems was honored to receive The South Bend Tribune’s Community Choice Award for Best Auto Body/Collision Center. A huge thank you to everyone who voted and supported us—we couldn’t have done it without you! We’re incredibly proud to be the area’s top choice for auto body repair in the South Bend and Mishawaka areas, and we remain committed to delivering the quality service and craftsmanship our community expects. Pictured is our sales representative, Jarod Thomas, receiving the award from Allison Wolff, Director of Marketing at TJ21 Media Group. The TJ21 team worked closely with the CRS team to encourage votes and help us achieve this recognition.

Celebrating Curt Coden’s Retirement

On October 11th, we celebrated the retirement of Curt Codden, a valued member of the CRS team. Curt’s passion for cars and his dedication to his work has had a lasting impact on our team and the many customers he served. Curt’s journey with CRS began over four years ago, and we are thankful for the years he spent with us. His commitment to customer care and his deep-rooted motivation from his family background has inspired us all. We wish Curt all the best in his next chapter, and we are grateful for his years of service at CRS.

Final Carguys and Coffee Event of 2024

On October 12th, we wrapped up our Carguys and Coffee events for the year. Carguys and Coffee is co-hosted by our on-campus partners, Carguys Auto Detailing and Auto Obsessions. We want to thank everyone who made 2024 our biggest year yet for Carguys and Coffee! These monthly gatherings have provided an incredible opportunity to connect with car enthusiasts in the community, and we’re excited to continue this tradition in 2025. A special thank you to Jeremy Ace Stroup for the fantastic photos of October’s event!

Supporting Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts

The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina has deeply affected us at CRS, and we’re committed to supporting the recovery efforts. Our own Dominic Medlin led the charge in organizing a relief drive, partnering with local Michiana businesses including JSK Hospitality in South Bend and Tyler’s Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling in Mishawaka, to collect vital supplies for those impacted. The drive, which concluded on October 31st, received an overwhelming outpouring of community support. We are currently in the process of counting and preparing the supplies to be loaded into semi-trailers for direct delivery to North Carolina, where nearly 100 lives were lost and many families remain in need of critical assistance.

Dominic’s cousin, Chad Medlin, a veteran and business owner of Battle Ground Excavation, was on the front lines in North Carolina as an equipment operator working tirelessly to restore power to devastated communities. Chad’s firsthand accounts of the destruction, especially the tragic loss of young lives, have been a powerful reminder of the urgent need for action. With Dominic’s connections and Chad’s on-the-ground insights, we had a unique opportunity to deliver food and essential supplies straight to affected areas, bypassing strained government resources to reach people in crisis more efficiently.

As we reflect on the impact of this effort, it is with deep sadness that we share the loss of Chad Medlin, who passed away on November 2, 2024, at just 36 years old. Chad’s commitment to helping others defined him, not only as a veteran, a firefighter, a father, and a race car driver but as a true hero who inspired us all through his selflessness and bravery. We dedicate this relief drive in his memory, carrying forward the values he exemplified every day.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this vital cause. Your support honors Chad’s legacy and ensures that North Carolinians know they are not alone. Together, we’re making a direct and lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.
