Steve’s roots trace back to Niles, Michigan, where he graduated from Brandywine High School and received hands-on training in bodywork and painting from his multi-talented father at the age of 14. In 6th grade, during Career Week, Steve declared his aspiration to become a bodyman and rebuild cars. He solidified his commitment by dedicating four hours a day to a Collision Repair trades class as a junior in high school.
In 1989, Steve’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish CRS, and subsequently, he ventured into owning and selling multiple successful businesses, including Performance Painting, Performance Graphics, and Performance Carstar Collision Center. Alongside his wife Suzette, Steve co-owns Graphics RV, LLC. His achievements include earning the Business of the Month award in 2003, surpassing 2,600 competitors in Elkhart County, and contributing to the RV industry with innovative paint products.
Family remains a cornerstone of Steve’s life, with 38 years of marriage, two college-educated daughters, Lindsey and Sara, and two delightful grandchildren, Gabriel and Gemma. Steve finds joy in having a family business, working with relatives, and creating a familial atmosphere at CRS. Beyond the business realm, Steve enjoys boating, fishing, and the fulfilling act of helping others when given the opportunity. His penchant for collecting unusual items adds a unique touch to his multifaceted life.
Dominic’s roots lie on a Buchanan, Michigan farm, and he’s a proud graduate of Granger Christian School. Though he initially pursued studies at Ferris State University, his true passion was unveiled through close relationships. Falling deeply in love with his now-wife opened the door to joining her family’s business, sparking Dominic’s keen interest in custom paint. Beyond providing for his family, he relishes collaborating with others to transform dreams into reality, finding particular fulfillment in clients witnessing the final project.
With a rich 11-year history at CRS, Dominic now leads in estimates, growth, and prioritizes customer satisfaction. His prowess in sales and project management is rooted in hands-on experience across all departments. Starting as a technician, Dominic immersed himself in the art of painting, which seamlessly propelled him into sales due to his love for direct interactions. Climbing the corporate ladder, Dominic now excels as a sales manager as the company expands.
Celebrating nearly 13 years of marriage, Dominic and his supportive wife are parents to two young children. When not savoring family moments, the couple enjoys socializing and going out together.
Jarod, a Mishawaka native, embarked on his journey by graduating from Mishawaka High School in ’08. Following a stint at various auto shops from 2009 to 2011, he transitioned into culinary management, sparking a trajectory that eventually led him to marketing and customer service. In September of 2022, Jarod sought a career change and found his calling at CRS.
With nearly 2 years at CRS, Jarod dedicates himself to customer satisfaction and witnessing their visions come to life. In his role, he writes estimates, coordinates work across all departments, and supports the sales manager. Maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction is a top priority, showcasing his commitment to excellence.
Beyond the professional realm, Jarod finds joy in fishing when the weather is right, revels in the magic of music and concerts, and embraces the thrill of traveling and cruising. His diverse interests outside of work reflect his dynamic personality and a well-rounded approach to life.
Skip is an alumnus of Goshen High School and has dedicated 27 years to CRS, where he currently serves as the Production Manager. One of the aspects he values most about his role is the dynamic nature of each day, as no two are ever the same. Approachable and proud in his managerial position, Skip strikes a balance by grounding himself through the love and support of his family.
Beyond the workplace, Skip finds fulfillment in precious moments with his loved ones. His family, consisting of three children and three grandchildren, holds a special place in his heart. These cherished relationships outside of the professional realm contribute to Skip’s sense of contentment and balance. Whether navigating the diverse challenges of his role or relishing quality time with family, Skip embodies dedication both in his career and personal life.
Erwin, a Mishawaka native and proud graduate of the Penn High Class of 1988, discovered his passion for fixing things early in life, steering him towards a fulfilling career choice. Currently serving as the Auto Body Production Manager at CRS for just over 6 months, Erwin is driven by a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Beyond the professional realm, Erwin finds joy in activities that strike a balance between thrill and family. An avid enthusiast of mountain biking, he embraces the exhilaration of outdoor adventures. Outside of work, Erwin devotes his time to creating cherished moments with his grandkids—an energetic 6-year-old boy and an adorable 4-year-old girl—with the anticipation of welcoming another grandchild anytime. Embracing the responsibilities of his role at CRS and the simple pleasures of life, Erwin embodies a commitment to both his career and his loved ones.
Mike hails from Granger, IN, and is an alumnus of Penn High School. Growing up immersed in the automotive world, Mike’s family started Jefferson Auto Collision in 1972, where he spent his formative years in the body shop.
With an impressive career spanning over three decades in the industry, Mike’s unwavering passion for the work remains undiminished. Joining CRS in 2022, he is driven by the satisfaction of making customers happy, the sense of accomplishment derived from executing his job with precision, and the camaraderie within an exceptional team.
Beyond the workshop, Mike’s personal life is a testament to lasting commitment, as he celebrates 34 years of marriage. A proud father to a daughter and son-in-law, he and his wife find joy in riding their Indian motorcycles and cherishing moments with their extended family outside the realm of auto collision.
Harold, a native of northern Indiana and a product of Penn schools, was raised in a family where his father, a mechanic, imparted early lessons on fixing things and problem-solving. His affinity for working with his hands led him down a slightly different career path, but one that allows him to engage in daily problem-solving. Possessing a keen attention to detail, Harold’s commitment to achieving a high level of quality in his work has proven instrumental.
Having been an integral part of the company for 13 years, Harold serves as the Assistant Production Manager, overseeing tasks ranging from day-to-day supply ordering to paint matching and mixing. As a mentor, he takes pride in sharing his accumulated knowledge with the team, ensuring everyone is aligned to deliver top-notch quality. His journey at the company has seen significant transformations, from spending years in the booth as a painter and repair technician to assuming the role of Assistant Production Manager in recent times.
In his personal life, Harold is engaged to Sara and is the proud father of two sons, Everette and Miles. A devoted baseball family, they spend most of their spring and summer at the ballpark, with Harold coaching his oldest son’s team and actively participating in the baseball community. Together, they enjoy attending games, including a special tradition of visiting a big ballpark every year for his oldest son’s birthday in September. This year, the family experienced the thrill of watching the Reds play the Cubs in Cincinnati, a choice made by his son to see Elle Delacruz in action—an unforgettable family outing.
Curt, hailing from a farm in southern Saint Joseph County and educated in Penn Schools, developed a lifelong passion for automobiles while growing up. Working on farm equipment and cars to keep them running was an integral part of his upbringing. Later, the opportunity to delve into bodywork arose with the introduction of the Elkhart Career Center course.
Driven by a profound motivation rooted in family, Curt serves as an estimator at CRS, meticulously tracking vehicles through the entire repair process. His journey with CRS began over four years ago, with an initial two-year stint followed by a temporary hiatus to care for family. Returning to CRS after overcoming the challenges of two funerals, Curt has now contributed over two more years to the team.
Reflecting on the evolution of the automotive repair industry, Curt acknowledges significant changes, particularly in the increased demands on existing staff due to reduced insurance company personnel. Outside the professional realm, Curt takes pride in his marriage and raising four children, three of whom have successfully pursued college degrees, leading fulfilled and prosperous lives. Through his multifaceted experiences, Curt remains dedicated to his work at CRS and the enduring importance of family in his life.
Growing up in the small town of Fish Lake, Indiana, and graduating from La Porte High School in 2007, Hannah Neal learned early on the value of hard work and determination. Though she didn’t have a clear career path in mind as a child, her journey into the collision repair industry sparked a love for problem-solving, creativity, and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
With over five years of experience in estimating and office management, including a tenure in Charleston, SC, Hannah brings a wealth of expertise to her role at CRS Custom. Since joining the team, she’s hit the ground running, handling responsibilities like writing estimates, answering phones, invoicing parts, and scheduling repairs.
Hannah takes pride in contributing to a team-oriented environment where there’s always something new to learn. She is especially motivated by the opportunity to help customers feel confident and satisfied with the repair process.
Outside of work, Hannah enjoys building intricate Lego creations, staying active at the gym, exploring new destinations, and sampling unique restaurants and cuisines. After 14 years away, she’s returned to the Michiana area and is excited to call it home once again.
